Forms of Disposition
This continuing education module contains information on the various forms of disposition available in Canada as well as several other disposition methods that are being proposed or developed in other places that may be available to our client families in the near future. As funeral service professionals, it is important that we remain informed about both current and new disposition options that are either currently available or in various stages of development and acceptance. To do this, this course will address the disposition methods of earth burial, cremation, green burial, body donation, alkaline hydrolysis, and promession. We will then explore a few other possible forms of disposition, including sea burial, human composting, and mycoremediation.
The OACFP has partnered with the Canadian College of Funeral Service (CCFS) to provide you access to numerous on-line continuing education courses that are available for professional development and have been accredited for CE hours toward license renewal. Each course is set up so that a participant can either complete it in one session or they may access it over time at different intervals. Upon completion of the course, OACFP will send the participant a certificate of completion. Each completed course is equivalent to three (3) hours of credit.
